Audi e-tron and e-tron Sportback are luxurious all-electric crossovers which have gained a lot of attention in the automotive industry. It has an upscale state-of-the-art cabin and superior design which makes it unique from the rest.

Audi e-Tron is an all-wheel drive, front engine, 5 passenger and 4 door hatchback. If you’re wondering what more is so outstanding about this vehicle, you are in luck. CarSwitch, which is a hot place to buy used cars in Dubai, has brought a review on Audi e-tron.

For the 2021 year, an optional Convenience Plus package is given which offers adaptive cruise control, black exterior trim, lane departure warning and a 360 degrees camera system.

    Power and engine

Below the heavy bodywork lays two electric motors. One is situated at the front axle and the second is located at the rear. These two motors combine to give an electronic all wheel drive. However, the rear motor is responsible for doing most of the work.

When the car is driving normally, the motors produce a total of 355 horses and 414 Nm of torque. But if someone wants more power, switching the transmission in Sport mode allows it to have 402 horsepower and 490 Nm torque.

Audi e-Tron offers a quick and stable ride which keeps the driver composed. It’s acceleration is rather fast because it is an electric vehicle. The extravagance is guaranteed due to smooth driving experience.

When it comes to the braking system, both the compulsory regenerative and traditional brakes are utilized. However, the regenerative brakes are not that strong to allow One-Pedal Drive. Nevertheless, Audi e-Tron showcases conventional SUV qualities. It also has a towing capacity of 4000 pounds.

    Cabin and comfort

Perhaps the most impressive feature of Audi e-Tron is the electrified system. However, it also boasts a five seater space which is equally impressive. The cabin is practical and full of technology. It’s dashboard houses various high resolution screens which contain Audi digital gauge cluster (Virtual Cockpit) and two mounted touch screens in the middle.

The collection of tech functions include massaging front seats and a head-up display both of which elevate the sophistication of the interior. E-tron’s cabin benefits from a flat floor as included in the underfloor battery pack. This pack offers a huge cargo space which measures to 29 cubic feet. If the back row is folded, 57 cubic feet is obtained.

All the infotainment system operates via the dual touchscreens. These are a 10.1 inches display at top and 8.8 inches of screen below. The upper screen allows access to the standard Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Bang Olufsen Audio system.

On the other hand, the lower screen is usually utilized for controlling the climate settings. Apart from the few power points, the system also shows a subscription based WiFi hotspot whereas a wireless smartphone charger is given as an option.

Both the regular e-tron and Sportback gained five star crash test ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). However, none of these cars have been reviewed by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). But both vehicles give a variety of standard driver assistance features and are also equipped with adaptive cruise control and self parking assist.

The main safety features present are standard lane departure warning, Forward Collision Warning, blind spot monitoring, automated emergency braking and rear cross traffic alert.

    Our verdict

The battery powered all-wheel drive Audi E-tron offers 222 miles and the Sportback version presents 218 miles of driving range. Even though the regular e-tron had a higher figure, both vehicles are strong competitors of the Tesla Model X Long Range and Jaguar I-Pace.

Both the cars are also compatible with the 150 kW DC fast charger. This charger fills 80% of the battery in only 30 minutes. The car also shows off a competitive but limited powertrain warranty. It’s limited warranty covers 50,000 miles, electric components are covered for 100,000 miles, powertrain warranty covers 50,000 miles and complimentary maintenance covers 10,000 miles.

It boasts an elegant cabin area and excellent driving manners. What more could anyone want from a vehicle? If you want to view this crossover, head over to CarSwitch which is the best automotive platform in UAE.
