Downloading them is the easy part. QuickBooks allows you to handle downloaded transactions in a variety of ways with help of Quickbooks pro download software.
QuickBooks was created for importing transactions from online financial institutions. You can enter it manually, but downloading can save you a lot of time and reduce errors. It is also very easy to make adjustments as you can see which transactions have been closed without calling the bank or waiting for the printed details.
When you enter QuickBooks, transactions are saved in a list and wait for you to further define and categorize each. Let’s work with them to see how to make sure records are as complete as possible.
connect
As long as you have online access to your bank and credit card accounts, you can quickbooks download – supporthelp.com to set up QuickBooks to import closed transactions. Click the Transactions tab on the toolbar, then click Bank. On the next screen click on Connect Account. The next page will show links to popular financial institutions. If it’s not on the list, enter a name in the search box at the top of the screen. Follow the on-screen instructions to establish the first connection and start the transaction download.
Once connected, you can add more by clicking on Link Account in the upper right corner.

- downloaded transaction
When you set up a connection to your bank or credit card account, information about that account is displayed in a box on the bank page.
Once you have added your account, you will continue to see the bank page. Each linked account is displayed in a box containing the balance and number of transactions that need to be confirmed. Most financial institutions send 90 days’ worth of the first download, so when you first download it will probably be a few, tens, or even hundreds. After that, every time the account is updated, only new accounts that have been cleared since the last connection will be recovered.
Tip: QuickBooks is usually updated once a day. If you want to see newly cleared transactions at any time, click on Updates in the upper right corner.
Downloaded transaction confirmation
Click on any account box to see the list of downloaded transactions below. Make sure that is highlighted for review. To the right of each line is one of two marks. Review means that QuickBooks has not specified a category for the transaction. Confirmation means that it exists and needs to be approved or modified. Please watch them carefully. QuickBooks may work just fine, but that’s not always the case.
Click on Transaction in Register to open the action box. The partial view is as follows:
Downloaded transaction
QuickBooks allows you to add large amounts of information about individual transactions to the register.
Classification is on by default because it is the most common action performed in a list. For example, if you received payment on an unpaid invoice, or if you recorded it as a transfer, click Find Matches. We will help you use the latter two options.
Select Vendor/Customer and Category (if QuickBooks is not assigned or is not optimal for the transaction). If you wish to bill the customer/project for this transaction, click on the Billable box. If you want to split a transaction into multiple categories or billing statuses, you can also split them up.
Below the section in the photo above, you have several options, including:
- contribution
- attach files.
Create a rule about how to record similar transactions.
For example, if there are duplicate or individual costs, exclude the transaction.
Please consult with us before doing either of the latter two. I don’t want you to do anything that adversely affects bookkeeping.
When you are finished, click Confirm. The transaction moves from the review list to the classified list. It will now appear in the register for that account.
After confirming the transaction, you will be taken to the category list.
As you can imagine, it’s a good idea to stick with downloaded transactions. That way, you’ll have time to pay the necessary attention to each. We recommend that you check it daily. Transactions flow into reports and taxes, so you need to make sure you’ve classified them correctly. Please let us know if you need help with this.
